Creating Meaningful Transitions in Child Care
Transitions in the daily routine can be challenging for some children, and as early childhood educators, we must think with intent about how to provide smooth, playful and necessary transitions for young children. This workshop will allow participants to explore how transitions can nurture children's curiosity, provide an opportunity for caregivers to connect with children, and inspire them to find different ways to help children adapt to the necessary changes in their day.
Presenter: Andrea Dawson has worked with children and families for over 20 years in both inclusive and non-profit centres. Andrea worked as part of the Early Childhood Mental Health team with Vancouver Coastal and currently teaches at Langara College in the Early Childhood Education department.
