Sensory Processing

Date Sep 13, 2022 | Time 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Sensory Processing outlines in detail what it means to be “hypersensitive” and “hyposensitive” in terms of sensory processing, functioning, and regulation. We explore the core causes of these struggles, and how as educators we can best accommodate them within our physical classroom environment. We will cover explicit strategies to determine areas of struggle for children in our care, and create actionable
plans with simple strategies to make our space more inclusive.

Presenter: Monica Maddison has served neurodiverse children (and their families) for over a decade. This experience ranges from one to one support, therapy, behaviour consulting, classroom advocacy, and inclusion planning. Monica is a college instructor and speaker - educating adults in how to care for children through a neurodiversity confirming, intentional, and inclusive practice.
